Your privacy
This whole product exists because privacy matters to the people it's for. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we don't do.
Last updated: July 2026
The short version
We collect as little as possible, we use it only to deliver what you asked for and to reply to you, and we never sell it. What you write inside the guide stays on your own device, we never see it.
Who is responsible for your data
The Exit Question is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything privacy-related at hello@theexitquestion.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you buy the guide, join a waitlist, or contact us.
- Order details, such as what you bought and when, so we can deliver it and handle refunds.
- Payment information is collected and processed by our payment provider, Stripe, not by us. We never see or store your full card details.
- Basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting when you visit, to keep the site secure and running.
What you type into the fillable Decision Memo is not sent to us or stored on our servers. It stays in your own copy of the file.
Why we use it
- To deliver the guide and send your receipt (that is, to fulfil your purchase).
- To reply when you email us.
- To send occasional updates only if you have asked us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who handles it for us
We use a few trusted services to run the business, and they process data on our behalf: Stripe (to take payment), Resend (to send and manage emails), and Vercel (to host the website). Because some of these providers are based outside the EU, your data may be processed abroad under appropriate legal safeguards.
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Here is exactly what they are, and what each one does.
- Meta Pixel, for advertising. Only if you accept. If you choose Accept, we load the Meta Pixel, which stores a cookie called _fbp in your browser. It tells us whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram led to a visit or a purchase, and it allows Meta to show our ads to people with similar interests. This is the advertising cookie we currently use. If you decline, the Pixel is never loaded and the cookie is never created.
- Vercel Web Analytics, for basic measurement. This counts page views and general details such as country and device type, so we know how many people visit. It sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you to other sites.
- Stripe, for checkout. When you buy, you are taken to Stripe's own secure payment page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. These are strictly necessary for a payment to work, and they are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
- One small item of browser storage. After a successful purchase, we store a single value in your browser for the length of that visit, purely so that refreshing the page does not record the same order twice. It is not a cookie, it holds nothing personal, and it disappears when you close the tab.
We ask for your choice the first time you visit, and no advertising cookie is loaded until you decide. If we ever add another one, we will list it here and ask again. Accept and Decline are equally easy, on purpose. You can change your mind at any time by selecting Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. If you decline, every part of this site still works exactly the same.
How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it: to support your purchase, to meet legal and accounting duties, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can object to certain uses or ask for a copy. Just email hello@theexitquestion.com and we'll help. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are in the United States
If you are a California resident, you can ask what personal information we hold about you and request that we delete it. We do not sell your personal information.
Children
This product is meant for working adults and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
